What People Are Saying About FrameCo

Compared mat cutters

Watched a display of your equipment at the show in Birmingham today and purchased Mat Master 1060B system which is superb.

Just wanted to say that there were several stands selling mount cutting equipment, however your stand stood out in terms of the product but most notably because your staff were friendly, professional and eager to demonstrate the products on offer.

Just like to say thanks and well done I will be recomending your products to my camera club.

Happy with the 1060B - case study

I have just purchased the 1060 B Mat Master first i would like to thank you for your prompt service I received the item within three days I could not believe how quick it was second i would like to say what a brilliant product it is..... I showed some coustomers the results - most impressed. The framer in the next town has a $3,000 machine, but you can not tell the difference. Not only have you saved me money your product has turned my whole little hobbie into a business.

I have never cut double mounts so neat and quick. I will be telling a lot of people about your products and I will also be buy a lot more from you very soon . once again thank you for your great service and products.

Hi Alan, Thanks for your comments.

What makes your comments more interesting to me is that you told me that you have a Valiani professional mitre cutter and automatic frame v-nail joiner…so you are 'in” the business!! As you have found very quickly, the FrameCo equipment can produce a professional result, but our tools are considerably less expensive than the professional machines. For a small business setup, our range is ideal. Thanks again for the feedback.

Comments on Design
I recently purchased one of your Matmaster systems - model 860b and I would like to take this opportunity to extend my praise to the people involved in the design of the product. It is no too often in life that we buy an article which lives up to its promise in terms of overall performance and ease of use so it very refreshing to find one as per this unit.

Comparison with Logan Cutters
Cheers Gary, I'll certainly give the Document Pad a try for the dirty marks. I think I've got everything else from the catalogue. If anyone out there is wondering whether to buy the FrameCo tools or not, no worries. They are well made and good value for money compaired to other brands. I've been framing my own and others art work for about ten years using a Logan mat cutter and a Proman saw (no measuring system) and a keen eye. Just bought the FrameCo tools, what a boon! I'm now getting cuts to within a mm. The how to PDF's are also a great asset. I've also picked up a few great tips from the Forum. All in all life is now sweet! Cheers everybody. P.S. the Logan stuff is going on ebay.

What a beautiful piece of equipment. Oh so glad I compared before buying a Logan - Simplex Plus 40''. (Logan 750). I realize you probably don't remember me but I will remember the great service you have given me.
Thank you very much,

Editor: a follow up email was sent 1 year later…

Dear Mr Ward,

Here we are 12 months on and I was wondering how you and the FrameCo cutter were getting along!...would appreciate your comments if you have time.

Hi! This is a surprise. How many people actually follow up a year later?

To answer quickly, I am very pleased with the product and use it very often. I find the rulers a little hard to see at times, mostly the full inch marks (they could be slightly larger in my opinion), but I am getting older so that probably has something to do with it! I found the learning curve very easy to follow and am still very pleased that I purchased your product over your major competitor. If anyone were to ask, and some have, I recommend your cutter in a flash. I hope the input helps somehow, and I truly am impressed with a "one year later" inquiry.

Keep up the good work,
CD Ward

Just a short note to say how pleased I am with the new Mat Master I purchased at the Auckland Autumn Craft Fair. It is far superior to the Logan I have been using in the past. I look forward to receiving product information in the future.

Getting started with our basic mat cutters

I have been using the 660 system I bought at the Stitches and Craft show in September and absolutely love it. I intend to extend my range as finances permit. Thanks for a fantastic product.

After years of using a freehand cutter I’ve just started to use your Mat Cutter and I’m only now getting the results that I’ve always wanted..so a big thankyou.

How Easy it is to get Started

I started framing (I use the 1260 B Mat Master) in January this year and haven’t looked back since. Overall it cost me about $1200 to get set up, but I have already saved that in the first nine months by doing it all myself. Not only that, but I now have a great hobby that will keep me going for years to come.

Took delivery of my Mat Master 1260 on Friday, by Saturday had set up saw and Ezy Measure, by Saturday afternoon had finished my first Frame a 40” x 11” picture of "The Pilgrims Progress to Canterbury". Everything worked fine, the quality and accuracy of the miters and the double mount was 100%, Great Stuff!!!

Even the glass cutting, which I was a bit wary, was a breeze. I have just one question, what purpose does the slip mat have? Since the base has a groove surely the blade just runs in the groove. Or is the slip mat just to stop the mat slipping. I ask this only because without the slip mat would there be less chance of blade wonder due to previous cuts in the slip mat. Also, if you must use a slip mat for mats - why does your literature ask you not to use one when using the straight cutter? Anyway, looking forward to your reply and looking forward to producing some great frames.

Many thanks once again,
