FrameCo manufactures several different types
of picture frame clamps. It is most important that the corners of
the frame you intend to join be held firmly together while inserting
the V-Nail. The pressure of the V-Nail entering the base of the
moulding may force the joint to open if the frame is not held securely.
FrameCo Strap
Clamp
"The best clamp to use for all your framing jobs is one
which pulls all the corners together at the one time. This way
you can see how the corners fit before joining with V-Nails."
The FrameCo Strap Clamp is ideal for picture framing. The spring steel band is 5M (16') and will hold a 1.2x1.2M (4x4') frame. There is no limit to the width of the moulding that can be joined.
The plastic corners are specially madeso that they will not slip offthe frame - a unique feature of our clamps. Plus the corner pieces are flexible so that they can clamp at any angle. The locking mechanism of the Strap Clamp is robust, quick and easy to use and comes with a lifetime warranty. Extra corners are supplied so that you can join 4, 6, 8 and 10 sided frames. Glue is recommended on all joints for larger frames.
All the FrameCo clamps now come with new corner "wings". These wings fit onto the bottom of each corner piece preventing the clamp from slipping off the frame. Fit the corner wings when joining rounded or narrow backed moulding.
FrameCo Corner Clamp "The FrameCo Corner Clamp is a powerful single corner system. Suitable for larger and complex shaped mouldings, frame restoration and repair work."
The clamp is precision engineered aluminium and has a unique front jaw which forces the joint together when clamping
.The forward clamping pressure causes the front jaws to bend inwards forcing the joint tightly together.
The Corner Clamp will hold and join mouldings up to 7.5cm (3") wide. Corner Clamp II will take mouldings from 5 - 15cm (2 - 6") wide.
The FrameCo Cord Clamp is an economical clamp ideal for the home framer. Six flexible corners are supplied. Maximum frame size is 60 x 60cm (24") square. To tighten the cord clamp you simply pull the nylon cord and lock it into the cleat.
When using the cord clamp, we recommend using glue on all joints
All the FrameCo clamps now come with new corner "wings". These wings fit onto the bottom of each corner piece preventing the clamp from slipping off the frame. Fit the corner wings when joining rounded or narrow backed moulding.
New corner wing sets fit all FrameCo cord, strap and Hobbi clamps. An update kit of 4 corners is available.
When joining some shaped mouldings the front or rear of the corner may need support if the frame does not rest flat on the working surface. The pressure of the V-Nail entering the base of the moulding can force the joint to open if the frame is not supported.
The FrameCo Corner "Jack" is an adjustable jack used to support the frame corner while joining.
The Corner Jack will support large, small or reverse shaped mouldings.
The FrameCo HobbiClamp improves the clamping pressure on the frame by removing the stretch from the cord. This is essential for large frames and bigger projects. The HobbiClamp consists of the Cord Clamp and the Tensioner combined. The Tensioner may be purchased separately and will fit any cord clamp.
