5 Easy Steps to Picture Framing - 2 sessions

SESSION ONE - INTRODUCTION TO BASIC FRAMING TECHNIQUES

Cost Session One:  $68 inc. GST.   Class numbers are small per session for maximum interaction and learning.

9.30am - 12.30pm (Mon-Fri)
9.00am - 12.00pm (Sat)
This course will be of great value to the absolute novice or someone who has started framing, but is in need of help to improve on the basics. You will find this class will help you answer many of the most frequently asked questions within the framing industry and we will show you lots of shortcuts and "tricks of the trade" to make your framing projects easier to complete and give them a more professional look.

You will learn:

• how to measure your work ready for framing
• choosing moulding and mount board combinations
• an overview of materials used in frame construction
• easy ways to measure, cut and join moulding's
• simple single mount cutting
• glass cutting
• frame finishing

The first session will comprise of tutor demonstrations and 'hands on' learning for all students. There will also be plenty of time for questions on specific projects.

Lunch Break - 30 minutes with refreshments provided. 12.30pm - 1.00pm

Note: IT IS ADVISABLE FOR BEGINNERS TO ATTEND SESSION ONE IN THE MORNING BEFORE ATTEMPTING SESSION TWO.

SESSION TWO - CREATIVE MOUNT CUTTING TECHNIQUES

Cost Session Two:  $68 inc. GST. Class numbers are small per session for maximum interaction and learning.

1.00pm - 4.00pm
This session will take your mount cutting skills to greater heights. It will be conducted with a hands-on approach; by allowing you to cut your own mounts under expert guidance, you will actually produce your own creative mounts. There will be plenty of time for a question and answer period too.

During the session we will also cover free-hand cutting with the GrooveMaster, and take time to solve any of your mount cutting problems. You will learn how to cut creative mounts with our user friendly cutters - elegant, creative mount cutting without going overboard!

Techniques covered include:

• double and triple mounts
• multi-opening mounts
• instep mounts
• arcs and scallop cutting with the Mat Master Circle Cutter
• freehand v-grooving and carving
• Q & A session

Course notes will be provided.

Courses are limited to 6 people a day to ensure each participant will have good interaction with the tutor. All bookings will be confirmed and we reserve the right to cancel courses up to 14 days prior to the commencement date in the unlikely event that all classes places have not been filled.
